New project at the SBO: Project EU-Interreg protectAlps

ProtectAlps - Alps pollutants and insects. The Bavarian State Office for Environment, the Zentralanstalt für Meteorolgie und Geodynamik with the Sonnblick Observatory and the environmental research station Schneefernerhaus have  started the cross-border detection of chemical stressors for the protection of alpine biodiversity due to the project protectAlps.
What are the harmful effects of persistent pollutants and nitrogen compounds on insects in alpine areas?
The scientists are trying to answer that question in the context of the project and at the same time they create standards and basic conditions that enable a joint and long-term approach in Bavaria and Austria. The project is supported by experts from the University of Innsbruck.
