The Sonnblick Verein

The association Sonnblick Verein is an important pile of the Sonnblick Observatory.
Sonnblick Verein's purpose is to conduct and promote scientific research in high mountain regions, especially in the field of atmosphere, cryosphere and biosphere.

As owner of the Sonnblilck Observatory, the Sonnblick Verein ensures continuation of the scientific operation at Mt. Hoher Sonnblick in spite of changing economic and political circumstances.

Beside its scientific support the Sonnblick Verein in collaboration with the Zentralanstalt für Meteorologie und Geodynamik maintain the observatory including the material ropeway.

Currently the association Sonnblick Verein counts 240 members.
New members are very welcome. Members get special insights into operation and research projects.
