“INTERACT is an infrastructure project, a network of currently 79 terrestrial field bases in northern Europe, Russia, US, Canada, Greenland, Iceland, the Faroe Islands and Scotland as well as stations in northern alpine areas.
INTERACT specifically seeks to build capacity for research and monitoring in the European Arctic and beyond, and is offering access to numerous research stations through the Transnational Access program.”
People being interested in doing research at the Sonnblick Observatory can get founding via the “Transnational Access“ or the „Remote Access“. The “Transnational Access” includes the logistical, technological and scientific support and necessary specific trainings provided to external researchers using the infrastructure physically.
“Remote Access” is a form of Transnational Access in which the user(s) do not visit the infrastructure/installation physically themselves; instead the staff of the infrastructure/installation is conducting the study/collecting the samples/doing the monitoring for the user(s) according to their research plan.
